Crippled Beggar is one absolute ripper of a band. A three-piece outfit chock full of grinding intensity and black-ish elements, these dudes from Rhode Island made a killer record with me. Reviews so far have raved about the album’s balance of technicality and force, while still exhibiting a glimmer of melody the whole way. Drums and electric guitars were recorded here, while bass and vocals were tracked by guitarist Sean Hart at his home studio. The record was mixed here at Studio Wormwood and mastered by Nick Zampiello at New Alliance East in Cambridge, MA. For fans of Converge, Torch Runner, blackened grindcore, and getting punched in the face.

Holding On To Nothing is a 4-piece band from Southeastern CT who call themselves “downer doom pop”. I for one like that classification! This four-song EP was fully recorded and mixed here at Studio Wormwood over the course of nearly six months, and mastered by Nick Zampiello at New Alliance East, Cambridge, MA. I have to give these guys a lot of credit; in January of this year after we had finished mixing the record, lead singer Charlie approached me about coming back to re-sing all of his vocals, re-record half of the guitars, and remix the whole record. Despite being satisfied with the mixes themselves, the band decided collectively that they wanted to hold themselves to a higher musical standard than they had previously – so a version 2 of the HOTN EP was begun. It has been awesome to see the band grow right before my eyes over the course of making this record, and I can’t wait to see where Holding On To Nothing goes from here. For fans of Life Of Agony, Type O Negative, My Dying Bride, and self-deprecation.
Pinto Graham – Uno
Release – Independent; May 5, 2017

Pinto Graham is a true power trio hailing from New Haven, CT who play southern rock with dripping heaviness and booty-wigglin’ grooviness. Making Pinto Graham’s debut record was an extremely rewarding experience for me as an engineer, as the band showed themselves to be consummate pros from both a performance and attitude standpoint. Drums, bass, and guitar were tracked live together, with overdubs being reserved for additional guitar layering and vocals. Start to finish Uno is a legitimately headbangable rock record that features tons of musical and mix dynamics, and great performances from every instrument group. I’m tremendously proud of Pinto Graham for the record they made with me, and I look forward to seeing them blossom in the CT live music scene! Uno was mastered by Nick Zampiello at New Alliance East, Cambridge, MA. For fans for of Alice In Chains, Kyuss, and the institution of rock n roll.
